Barton has over 20 years of experience in drug discovery and early stage development of both small molecule and biological drug candidates in immunology, virology and cardiovascular diseases at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Barton has authored over 70 scientific publications, and has been the principal investigator leading to 5 patents, and 3 patent applications. Dr. Barton has a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Tennessee at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
